SEND Admission Policy:
The Principal and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) are authorized to admit students when they determine that adequate provision can be made for the particular needs of SEND students.
 
Definition and Categories of SEND:
 
Definition:
A child has a learning difficulty if they:
  • Struggle to learn more prominently than the majority of children of the same age
  • Have a disability which prevents or hinders them from making use of educational facilities
  • Have had an assessment with an external agent (i.e., Educational Psychologist, Occupational Therapist) which provides data regarding student strengths, challenges and suggested teaching/learning strategies

  • Behavioral, social, emotional 
  • Sensory and physical
  • Medical condition or health related disability
  • Communication and interaction
  • Learning
  • Gifted and talented
  • Physically disabled 
  • Mentally impaired

The SEND Support Team consists of:
  • Teacher(s)
  • Inclusion Coordinator
  • Social Counselors
  • School Nurse
  • SLT
